About

My art lies between the real and the imagined, the representational and the abstract.

I am inspired by nature and have spent many hours plein air painting.

My current body of work is an evolution of that more representational time and is now mostly imagined elements of real landscapes.

I enjoy the tensions between the abstract and the non-abstract and often include both elements in my new paintings.

I hope my work is soothing to the eye and at the same time encourages the viewer to seek deeper meaning in my paintings; the vastness of the earth, the frailty of the planet and the balance between beauty and banal.
